Fiona Tan

Fiona Tan, Chief Technology Officer at Wayfair, which ranks among the leading furniture and home goods retailers in the United States, generating more than $10 billion in U.S. sales.

Tan’s journey began in Penang, Malaysia, leading her to Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master’s at Stanford University, foundations for driving global digital transformations.

She spent 16 years at TIBCO, rising to VP of Engineering, then moved to SAP Ariba to lead global engineering for its vast commerce network.

At Walmart, Tan stepped into an even bigger stage, serving as SVP of US Technology, modernizing the backbone of America’s largest retailer and reimagining how millions of people shopped, both online and in-store.

In 2020, she joined Wayfair as Global Head of Customer and Supplier Tech, quickly rising to CTO. She now leads worldwide teams building next-generation shopping experiences, advancing AI-driven personalization, and expanding innovation hubs across the globe.

She also chairs Wayfair’s Executive Council, where she champions diversity, equity, and inclusion in technology leadership.

Tan’s multicultural background and international experience continue to shape her perspective, blending technical excellence with empathy and a global outlook.
